Georgia Express Mentors

We are excited to launch our new Georgia Express Mentors program.  Spearheaded by Coaches Jen Plante and Craig Cunningham, our Mentors program connects our U13-U16 Girls with U6-U12 Girls.  Features of the program will include joint training, social activities, community service, and 1-2-1 Impact.  Mentors will receive training and support throughout the year and will be involved in shaping the program. 

"Through my work with players at the youth level, I have noticed that players are struggling to develop the soccer life skills that are necessary to reach their excellence on and off the field," said Coach Jen.  "Life skill development is critical in today's athlete. Not only must we be good in our sport, but we have a responsibility to our team and community to excel off the field as well. I have noticed a lack in this development at all levels and we must take a deep look at our next generation of athletes.  By creating a mentorship program here at Georgia Express, we have an opportunity to engage players at all levels."

"We will develop a mentor program that allows our youngest players to develop relationships with our older age groups. By doing this, we create a community, role models and enhance the next generation of GA Express players."

"Our U13-U16 program is all about preparing our players for high school tryouts when they reach U15," said Coach Craig.  "Our Georgia Express Mentors program will broaden that preparation, adding leadership opportunites and a way for each of them to help one of our younger Academy and Rec players."
