FAQ’s for Academy Tryouts

Q. When are tryouts?

A. May 29-31 (born 2006-2010), June 5-7 (U14 and older, players born 2000-2005); click here for all details at Shakerag Elementary

Q. Are there make-up dates?

A. Yes, June 11-12 (U14 and older)

Q. Where are tryouts?

A. Shakerag Elementary School, 10885 Rogers Circle, Duluth GA 30097; we also are having tryouts at Peachtree Ridge Park, Medlock Bridge, Johns Creek Methodist, and Gainesville.  Click here for the latest information.

Q. Do I need to register for tryouts?

A. Yes, click here to sign-up.  Each player should register for tryouts, both new and returning players.

Q. What is the cost for tryouts?

A. There is no cost for Georgia Express tryouts

Q. What do I bring to tryouts?

A. Bring soccer ball, shin guards, cleats, and plenty of water

Q. Do I need to stay with my player?

A. It is not required, although you are welcome to stay

Q. How do I check-in?

A. Check-in will be 45 minutes before tryouts on the first day

Q. Do I have to come to each day?

A. We want you to come to each day of tryouts. It allows us to evaluate your player, as well as potential new players. Please note if you are going to miss a day.

Q. I played last year at Georgia Express. Do I really need to come to tryouts?

A. Yes, we want you to come to each day of tryouts.  If  you are attending an alternate location other than Shakerag Elementary, please be sure to come to the first day (May 29 or June 5), depending on your age.

Q. What will I receive at tryouts?

A. We will provide you with information including costs, ordering new uniforms, and other important information

Q. When will I know if I made a team?

A. We will notify you on the final day of tryouts or a day or two later

Q. When do we sign with the club?

A. The date is regulated by Georgia Soccer. U9-U13 Signing Day is June 4; U14 and older is June 11

Q. I played this year, will I need a new uniform?

A. Yes, we will have new uniforms for Fall 2018-Spring 2020.  Uniforms will be available at tryouts for sizing.

Q. What if I am traveling during tryouts?

A. Please register for tryouts and note these details. This includes returning players as we need to ensure that we have a spot reserved for you

Q. I play another sport in either the Fall or the Spring; can I still tryout?

A. Yes, we encourage multi-sport players. We have special pricing for single season players available to those who attend tryouts
