Q. How often does our team practice?
For U6, the teams practice once a week for 60 minutes.
For U8 & above, there are two types of practices for each team. Each volunteer Head Coach leads a 90-minute practice once a week. The team also will receive six additional 90-minute practices led by one of our professional trainers. These will be on a different day, held every other week for your team.
Q. What day of the week does our team practice?
Click here for the latest schedule. We are finalizing this with your volunteer coaches. Each has made a request for certain day/time, and we will use this to complete the practice schedule.
Q. When will we receive uniforms?
Uniforms will be delivered before the first game, hopefully at the first practice.
Q. What is not included that we will need to have to play soccer?
All players should have cleats, shin guards, and a water bottle. For U8 players, you should have a #3 soccer ball. For U10-12 players, bring a #4 soccer ball. U14-16 players use a #5 ball. U6 players receive a #3 ball as part of their registration. Click here to purchase a GXFC soccer ball or backpack.
Q. When are games?
Games are typically played on Saturday’s, although some teams may play on a few Sunday’s. Game times are to be determined.
Q. Where do we practice and play games?
Georgia Express is proud to play at Shakerag Elementary School (10885 Rogers Circle, Duluth 30097). We are the largest Business Partner for any school in our area, contributing over $15,000 during the 2012-2013 School year to Shakerag. This included construction of a fence around the field, providing playground mulch to keep children safe, and a $1,000 contribution to the Shakerag Technology Fund. In addition, Georgia Express handles all care and maintenance for the fields. These costs are quite significant compared to church leagues and other programs in our area, and we are committed to continue to invest in our community.
Q. What is different about Georgia Express?
Founded in 2008, Georgia Express has always tried to do more for each and every player. Our club leaders have lived in Johns Creek for over a decade, and we are solely focused on providing a fun, learning environment for each player.
Our Premium Rec model ensures that all teams U8 and above receive professional training. This accelerates the improvement of every player regardless of his or her athletic ability. Our reasoning is that we feel improving the skills of all players is the best way to have more children playing soccer into Middle School and High School. We have the best schools in Georgia, and our goal is to be a big part of shaping balanced boys and girls.
